Frequently Asked Questions

Are Bisque pieces handmade?

Yes. Every Bisque piece is shaped, glazed, and finished by hand, which means no two pieces will ever be exactly identical. Small shifts in form, tone, glaze, or texture are part of the object’s character, not a flaw.

What materials do you use?

Our pieces are made using ceramic clay bodies and carefully selected glazes. Each material is chosen according to the piece’s function, whether it is made for serving, display, or everyday rituals around the home.

Are the products microwave and dishwasher safe?

Some pieces are suitable for the microwave or dishwasher, while others are better handled more gently. We mention this clearly on each product page, so always check the care notes before using heat or machine washing.

Do colors vary between items?

Yes, and that is part of what makes them special. Glaze reacts differently in the kiln depending on placement, heat, and surface texture, so two pieces from the same collection may still carry subtle differences.

Do you accept custom orders?

We do, depending on the request and the studio’s production schedule. Custom work usually needs more time, especially for specific sizes, quantities, or finishes, so it is best to contact us with the details first.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, we ship internationally. Because ceramics are fragile, we take extra care with packing and carrier selection. Shipping rates and timelines depend on the destination and will be calculated during checkout.

How long does it take to receive my order?

Ready pieces usually ship within a few working days. Made-to-order or larger pieces may need more time, as they go through hand-forming, drying, glazing, and firing. If your order needs extra production time, we will let you know.

Can I return or exchange an item?

Returns and exchanges depend on the condition of the piece and the type of order. Because many items are handmade or made in small batches, we recommend reading our Returns & Exchanges page before placing your order.

What happens if my item arrives broken?

If your piece arrives damaged, please contact us as soon as possible with your order number and clear photos of the packaging and item. We will review it carefully and help with the next step.

Do you offer wholesale or collaboration opportunities?

Yes. We are open to thoughtful wholesale requests, studio collaborations, hospitality projects, and special commissions. For these enquiries, please reach out with a short introduction and what you have in mind.

Are the pieces safe for food and beverages?

Pieces made for serving food or drinks are finished with food-safe glazes. Decorative pieces will be described as such, so you can clearly tell how each item is intended to be used.

Are items identical to the photos?

The photos are a close representation, but handmade ceramics naturally vary from piece to piece. Your item may have small differences in glaze movement, shape, speckles, or tone, which is part of owning something made by hand.
